‘The Night Agent’ – Catching Up with Oscar Nominee Hong Chau

Hong Chau is on a roll. The busy actress was not only recently nominated for a best supporting actress Oscar for her role but she has been working non stop and has much more to come!

Chau earned critical acclaim in Alexander Payne’s 2017 dramatic comedy Downsizing and a memorable performance in last year’s The Menu. She finally snagged a well deserved Oscar nod in January for her supporting turn in Darren Aronofsky’s The Whale. She didn’t win, but that hasn’t stopped the roles from pouring in.

Chau is a power house in her new series, The Night Agent. The action packed political thriller series  is based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent is a sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller centering on a low level FBI Agent who works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings — until the night that it does, propelling him into a fast moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office.

Chau plays Diane Farr, the President’s powerhouse Chief of Staff and loyal defender.  The series also stars Gabriel Basso in the lead role of Peter Sutherland. He’s a low level FBI Agent who works in the basement of the White House. There, he mans an emergency hotline for American spies. A call comes in from a terrified civilian, Rose Larkin. Peter then must protect Rose and work with her to uncover the conspiracy that threatens to rock the nation.

Luciane Buchanan plays Rose Larkin. She’s a young tech CEO who has fallen on hard times and has retreated to her aunt and uncle’s house to reassess her life. Assassins come for Rose’s aunt and uncle. Through that, she learns they were not who they pretended to be, and barely escaping, finds herself with Peter, running for their lives.

The Night Agent starts streaming on Netflix on March 23rd.
