The acclaimed BBC series, “Everything I Know About Love” is now streaming in Canada and the show’s star Emma Appleton is a rising star!
Based on Dolly Alderton’s memoir Everything I Know About Love, which she wrote when she was in her late 20s, became an immediate best selling novel.
It follows twentysomethings who are the best of friends, who have great nights out, depleted bank accounts, bad first dates, one-night stands, hopes raised and dashed- you know – things 20 something’s can relate to!
Alderton adapted her account of those years into a BBC One drama series of the same name
which is now streaming on Paramount Plus. It fictionalizes the memoir, but gives off the same vibes that readers originally connected with.
Set in 2012, we meet Maggie (the author’s alter ego played by Emma Appleton). She is 24 and has just arrived in London. Maggie is one of four friends sharing a flat with her three friends.
They are all eager to live life to the fullest, going out, partying, with out a care in the world – and Maggie seems to be the one who wants this life the most. Her best friend Birdy ( Bel Powell) whom she’s known since they were kids, appears to be more level headed.
Maggie’s university friends Nell (Marli Siu) and Amara (Aliyah Odoffin) are the other flat-mates, but, it is Birdy and Maggie, whose friendship we see in flashbacks to their school days.
