Chatting With Maika Monroe And Jake Lacy About Their New Thriller, ‘Significant Other’

Beware of strange forests, you’ll never know what is lurking in the dark. Maika Monroe and Jake Lacy find out the hard way in their new thriller, Significant Other.

Scream Queen Maika Monroe (It Follows, The Guest) and Jake Lacy (White Lotus) get more than they bargained for in their new movie, Significant Other.

The film follows a young couple, Harry (Jake Lacy) and Ruth (Maika Monroe) who take a remote backpacking trip through the Pacific Northwest, but things take a dark turn when they realize they may not be alone.

Tensions are high from the get go between these two “lovebirds” – but is it the woods that is making their relationship turn sour or could it be something else?

The film also stars Teal Sherer and Loudon McCleery. Significant Other is directed and co-written by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, the filmmaking duo behind Body and Villains.

Our Bonnie Laufer spoke with Maika Monroe and Jake Lacy about what draws them to this type of material.

Significant Other starts streaming on Paramount Plus on October 7th.
