Catching Up With The Cast of the New Amazon Series ‘The Wilds’

Imagine ten teenage girls stuck on a deserted island without supplies or worse…  their makeup! That is the premise of the exciting new original series that Amazon Prime brings to you.

“The Wilds” starts with nine teen girls from different backgrounds flying to Hawaii for an empowerment retreat. The plane crashes in the ocean, and the girls have to figure out how to find shelter and food amid natural disasters and personal drama.

The castaways both clash and bond as they learn more about each other, the secrets they keep, and the traumas they’ve all endured. There’s just one twist to this thrilling drama… these girls did not end up on this island by accident.

At least one girl also begins to suspect that the island is not what it seems. And that shadowy forces set them up for unknown purposes. Kind of Lord of the Flies meets Lost but with teenage girls!

With each episode we find out more about the girls and how their back stories relate to why they are on the island.

The Wilds, created by Sarah Streicher, was given a series order by Amazon in May 2019. It’s a part of the company’s initiative to create more young adult television content.

The series stars Rachel Griffiths, Sophia Ali, Shannon Berry, Jenna Clause, Reign Edwards, and Mia Healey. Also in the cast are Helena Howard, Erana James, Sarah Pidgeon, David Sullivan, and Troy Winbush.

The first episode of the series will be available to stream for free on Prime Video’s YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook pages from December 11-25. The first episode will also be available on Prime Video without a Prime account necessary during the same time period.

Bonnie Laufer spoke to the entire cast about working on the series and what their survival skills would be if stranded on a desert island in real life!
