A much beloved movie gets a series treatment 34 years later!
Willow made its theatrical debut in 1988 and now Lucasfilm is bringing back Willow Ufgood for another set of adventures. Willow is back as a full TV series for Disney+ where we finally get to revisit the world of Andowyne with Warwick Davis reprising his role of Willow Ufgood.
In the series we find Princess Kit who assembles a group of adventurers to rescue her twin brother, including the eponymous sorcerer Willow who is much more experienced in the series and is no longer a trainee magic user.
Warwick Davis is pretty much the only main character from the movie to return. Although Davis himself has hinted that Val Kilmer’s Madmartigan would be involved “in a big way”, albeit not in person due to Kilmer’s ongoing battle with cancer. You’ll all have to watch to see!
Lots of newcomers are coming aboard including Ruby Cruz (Mare of Easttown) who plays Princess Kit. The other newcomers are Erin Kellyman (Solo: A Star Wars Story, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) as her best friend Jade, and Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s Tony Revolori.
Willow is available to watch from 30 November 2022. The first two episodes will be released on day one.
