Travelling around the world with your beloved canine AND a chance to win $500,000? Where do we sign up?
Olympic medalist and athlete extraordinaire Lindsey Vonn has teamed up with Amazon for a 10-episode canine competition series titled The Pack.
Vonn, who won the gold medal in the downhill at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, has a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Lucy, accompanies her throughout the series.
The Vonn-hosted unscripted series will celebrate the bond between dogs and their human companions, and is set to premiere this Friday November 20th. The Pack IS without a doubt The Amazing Race for dogs!
Filmed pre-pandemic, the teams take on various challenges, with a group of veterinarians and dog experts to make sure the puppers stay safe throughout the process. The winning team will get $500,000, with another $250,000 going to an animal-focused charity of their choice.
Amazon also donated an additional $250,000 to various charities throughout the filming process in an effort to help dogs around the world. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved!
The show is addictive and it is so much fun to watch the contestants and the love they have for their pups. It is also extraordinary to watch what they all can accomplish in a safe and entertaining way.
The Pack is an uplifting and exhilarating new unscripted series, celebrating one of the most unique and universally-recognized relationships we have – between people and their best friends,” said Albert Cheng, co-head of television at Amazon Studios. “Amazon Prime customers around the world will go on an adventure unlike any other as these impressive dogs and their humans navigate challenges as teams, making a difference along the way. The Pack is a great addition to our growing slate of global competition series.”
Bonnie Laufer spoke with Lyndsey Vonn, 2 of the contestants (with their pups) and the veterinarian/dog training experts about the show.
