‘Midnight Mass’ – Chilling With the Cast

Mike Flanagan adds yet another bone-chilling series to his resume with Midnight Mass.

Midnight Mass is a new supernatural horror mini series. The creator and director behind it is Mike Flanagan, once again working with Netflix. Flanagan knows a thing or two about giving us a good scare. That’s what we can expect from the creator of the hit Netflix series The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of By Manor.

The new series is currently streaming on Netflix. It features many of the same actors who starred in Flanagan’s previous shows plus some new faces. Included in this cast are Zach Gilford is an actor whose works include Good Girls, L.A.’s Finest, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, This Close, Drunk History, L.A.’s Finest: Behind the Scenes Extras, Boy Genius and Lifeline. Hamish Linklater’s works include Gaslit, Cinema Toast, Tell Me Your Secrets, The Stand, Monsterland, 10 Things We Should Do Before We Break Up, Legion, Paper Year, You Can’t Say No, Unicorn Store, Fargo and A Midsummer Night’s Dream and  Kate Siegel’s works include The Haunting of Bly Manor, Hawaii Five-0, Let’s Go Down, The Haunting of Hill House, Gerald’s Game, Ouija: Origin of Evil, The NoSleep Podcast and Hush. Kate Siegel’s spouse also happens to be series creator Mike Flanagan.

Midnight Mass tells the tale of a small, isolated island community whose existing divisions are amplified by the return of a disgraced young man (Zach Gilford). Another event rocking the town is the arrival of a charismatic priest (Hamish Linklater). When Father Paul’s appearance on Crockett Island coincides with unexplained and seemingly miraculous events. A renewed religious fervor takes hold of the community – but do these miracles come at a price?

This series is really one of Flanagan’s best.  If you are looking for a good scare, this series is  bone chilling, terrifying and extremely heart touching. Every character faces loss, death, rebirth and eternal life, testing them to the brink. And what comes out will truly surprise you.

Our Bonnie Laufer spoke with some of the cast. She spoke with Kate Siegel, Hamish Linklater and Zach Gilford to talk about the show.
