If you are looking for a film that is more than a little odd, that is open for interpretation and will have you wondering what you watched long after it ends, look no further than Mr. K.
Mr. K follows the story of a travelling magician named Mr. K (Crispin Goler), who books a night in an old hotel well off the beaten path. His goal is to wake up in the morning and head off to an important meeting. But he quickly discovers he won’t be keeping his appointment. The reason why is simple, he can’t seem to find the exit.
As you would expect going in, Crispin Glover gives a memorable performance playing an oddball character. What is unexpected however is that everyone else is even odder. Seeing him play a character that is the most normal was refreshing and fun. Watching him react to the world around him was even better though. The best part of the film however was not the acting, but the story itself. It keeps you wondering what was coming up behind the next door Mr. K entered, and whether or not he would ever find his way out.
Mr. K is a film you will want to watch again right after it ends so you can see the things you missed the first time through. This movie won’t be for everyone. But be rest assured however that no matter how you interpret it, it will be the right way.
