‘The Morning Show Season 2’ – The Lowdown from the Cast

We’ve been waiting two years and now Season 2 of the hit series The Morning Show is upon us!

The highly anticipated second season of Emmy Award-winning drama series The Morning Show premieres globally with the first episode this Friday on Apple TV+ followed by new episodes weekly.

Starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell, The Morning Show is an Emmy Award winning series. Other critics and guilds have also given the show some awards. Jennifer Aniston got a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series. Billy Crudup got a Critics Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. The show also got three Golden Globe Award nominations just shortly after its premiere.

Season two picks up after the explosive events of season one. This new season finds the Morning Show team emerging from the wreckage of Alex (Aniston) and Bradley’s (Witherspoon) actions. They wake up to a new UBA and a world in flux. A world where identity is everything. And the chasm between who we present as and who we really are comes into play.

Along with Aniston and Witherspoon, the star-studded returning cast includes Steve Carell, Billy Crudup and Mark Duplass. Other cast memebrs include Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Bel Powley, Desean Terry, Janina Gavankar, Tom Irwin and Marcia Gay Harden.

Joining the cast for season two are Greta Lee as ‘Stella Bak’. She’s a tech world wunderkind who has joined the UBA executive team. Other new cast members include Ruairi O’Connor as ‘Ty Fitzgerald,’ a smart and charismatic YouTube star; Hasan Minhaj as ‘Eric Nomani,’ a new member of the Morning Show team; Emmy Award-winner Holland Taylor as ‘Cybil Richards,’ the savvy chairwoman of the UBA board; Tara Karsian as ‘Gayle Berman,’ a news producer; Valeria Golino as ‘Paola Lambruschini,’ a documentary filmmaker; and, Emmy and SAG Award-winner Julianna Margulies as ‘ Laura Peterson,’ a UBA news anchor.

In the first episode of season two, “My Least Favorite Year,” controversy and betrayal strike the Morning Show. A new year approaches and Alex faces a difficult decision.

Our Bonnie Laufer caught up with Nestor Carbonell, Hasan Minhaj, Karen Pittman & Desean Terry  from the cast of The Morning Show to get the scoop on the new season.
