The long-awaited Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle may have landed in theatres in Japan back in July, but Canadian audiences are still waiting for their chance to see it. Thankfully the wait is almost finished, as the film hits Canadian theatres on September 12, 2025. For many fans, it’s the most anticipated anime film of 2025. It draws the series to a long awaited conclusion. Whether you’ve watched the series before or not, you might be looking for a recap thanks to delays the series has faced. Unfortunately with so many arcs, movies, and specials, it can be more than a little difficult. How can one decide which episodes to watch (or re-watch) on Crunchyroll before heading into the Infinity Castle? Thankfully we’ve got your streamlined guide right here.
- Start with Season 1 (Episodes 1–26)
While you don’t need to marathon all 26 episodes right before the movie, it’s worth revisiting a few highlights. Watch the opening episodes where Tanjiro (Natsuki Hanae) becomes a Demon Slayer and Nezuko’s (Akari Kitô) condition is introduced—this sets the emotional foundation for the entire series. Key battles like Tanjiro vs. Rui (Episode 19, “Hinokami”) are essential, since Infinity Castle will revisit themes of family bonds and perseverance first introduced here.
- Mugen Train Arc (Episodes 26–34 or the film Mugen Train)
Whether you watch the episodic version in Season 2 or the 2020 feature film, this arc is absolutely mandatory. The events with Rengoku and Akaza (Akira Ishida) directly shape Infinity Castle’s opening chapters. Akaza’s history with the Demon Slayer Corps begins here.
- Entertainment District Arc (Episodes 34–44)
This arc introduces Tengen Uzui and showcases the Upper Rank demons Gyutaro and Daki. Beyond the spectacle, it establishes the growing threat of Muzan’s Upper Moons, a direct lead-in to Infinity Castle. Be sure to watch the finale (Episode 44) for its jaw-dropping animation and foreshadowing.
- Swordsmith Village Arc (Season 3, Episodes 45–55)
Covering Episodes 45–55, this arc introduces key Hashira—Muichiro (Mist) and Mitsuri (Love)—who will be vital in Infinity Castle. The fights against Hantengu and Gyokko also demonstrate how far Tanjiro and Nezuko have come, especially Nezuko’s sun-resistance, which is central to Muzan’s plans. Don’t skip Episode 55, where the stakes skyrocket.
- Hashira Training Arc (Season 4, Episodes 56–63)
The most recent season bridges the story directly into Infinity Castle. These episodes (56–63) highlight Tanjiro’s training under each Hashira and showcase the unity of the Corps. It ends on a cliffhanger that transitions seamlessly into the events of Infinity Castle. If you only have time for one arc, make it this one.
Viewing Checklist
If you want the short list before seeing the movie, here’s the bare minimum:
Season 1: Episodes 1–2 and 19 – The first two episodes are essential viewing as it sets up Tanjiro and Nezuko’s story, while episode 19 is the iconic Tanjiro and Rui fight.
Mugen Train (movie) – Just watch the movie instead of the episodes. It just flows better without interruption.
Entertainment District Arc (Episodes 34–44) – The entire arc is important to watch. If you skip it, you will be missing a lot of information you will need for the new film.
Swordsmith Village Arc (Episodes 50–55) – while the entire season is excellent, you can get by watching the last few episode.
Hashira Training Arc (Episodes 56–63) – This season is a prelude to the Infinity Castle film. If you want to prepare yourself for the movie, you will need to watch this from start to finish. It’s by far the most essential arc to know.
By brushing up on these key episodes, you’ll enter Infinity Castle fully prepared for the emotional and visual roller coaster that awaits.
