Who’s ready for more hilarious adventures with the Critch family?
Son of a Critch, a CBC Original Comedy, created by Mark Critch (This Hour Has 22 Minutes) and Tim McAuliffe (writer/producer of NBC’s The Office, FOX’s Last Man on Earth and NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon), is coming back for Season 2.
The popular series stars Critch, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth (Disney’s Pinocchio), Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange), Claire Rankin and Colton Gobbo.
Based on the award-winning, best-selling memoir from Mark Critch, this is the hilarious and very real story of 13 year-old Mark coming-of-age in St. John’s, Newfoundland. It’s a heartfelt window into the life of a child who uses comedy and self-deprecation to win friends and find his place in the world.
Benjamin Evan Aisnworth really shines as young Mark Critch. The British actor who recently starred as Miles in the Netflix series The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020), as William in Disney’s Flora & Ulysses (2021), and the voice of Pinocchio in Disney’s live-action remake has a knack for accents. He’s completely nailed the Newfoundlander accent and says with the help of a voice coach he found it easy to slip right back into it for Season 2.
Season 2 of Son of A Critch premieres on Tuesday, January 3rd at 8:30pm (9pm NT) on CBC and the free CBC Gem streaming service.
