EMBRACE THE ‘SEASON OF THE WITCH’ DOWN AT THE ROYAL THEATRE THIS OCTOBER WITH PASSES TO A GREAT DOUBLE FEATURE!!!

You’ve just got to love a good theme night and our friends at The Royal here in Toronto have booked themselves a doozy.

On Sunday October 15th at The Royal Cinema they unleash the “Season Of The Witch” for audiences.  At 7PM sharp they spool up a cult gem in Halloween III: Season Of The Witch that may have been more widely accepted had it simply not been called a Halloween movie.  It’s the story of a terrified toy salesman who is mysteriously attacked and brought to the hospital babbling and clutching the year’s most popular Halloween costume; an eerie looking pumpkin mask.  Doctor Daniel Challis (Tom Atkins) is thrust into this waking nightmare and while working with the salesman’s daughter Ellie, they trace the masks origin to the Silver Shamrock Novelties company and its founder Conal Cochran (Dan O’Herlihy) whose shocking Halloween plan will change the night for trick or treaters across the country in ways they couldn’t have even imagined!

At 9:15 PM we get a unique look at George A Romero’s Season of the Witch his horror follow up to the iconic Night of the Living Dead.  While it was panned on its initial release this story of a bored housewife who begins to dabble and experiment with witchcraft and the occult also works as a unique character study that takes a look at the more psychological aspects of horror as a genre, and when you consider how rarely this gets screened it’s a must see for any fan of Romero.

Nights like this don’t come around very often, and thanks to our friends at The Royal Cinema we have a pair of tickets to give away to both…that’s right BOTH screenings on the night of Oct. 15th.  Your chance to win simply couldn’t be easier.

E-mail us at contests@intheseats.ca with your full name, ‘Season of the Witch’ in the subject header and the answer to the following question.  While obviously an icon of the horror genre, George A Romero didn’t exclusive direct horror, in 1974 he directed a TV documentary about a then famous (but now infamous) NFL running back who was then playing for the Buffalo Bills…give us the name of that former football star.

The contest is open to all residents of Toronto, one entry per household.  The contest will run until Friday October 13th at 11:59AM, winners will be informed via e-mail and added to the guest list for the screenings that Sunday night.
